How to keep my download speed constant?

I am trying to download the full version of America's Army online. But,my download speed always changes from like 20kb/second to 13kb/second.That's making the download longer. And if it isn't doing this it finishes early, and when I try to install it it says the program has an error and I have to start again. What do i do?
How to keep my download speed constant?
Try using a download manager such as FlashGot or DownThemAll (for Firefox). This will allow you to fine-tune your download options, as well as pause and resume (and automatically resume broken transmissions).

Good luck.
How to keep my download speed constant?
its not your computer.. unless you are on a wireless connection... they just bought a low-bandwidth plan for their site
try netscape
when u start the downloading dont touch anything on the computer. dont even move the mouse until the download is over. just try that first but i reccommend u get a faster connection
more info. please, what download speed are you talking about? downloading, music, dvds, videos?
Your download speed is based on several variables beyond your control. If you have made sure you have nothing else running in the background during your download on your computer that is about all you can do, the download speed constantly changing is because of traffic between your connection and their website constantly changes based on other people accessing information or attempting to download also. The internet isn't a single path of data throughput, as circuits become overloaded, they automatically reroute to attempt to maintain your connection just like everyone elses. For more optimal connection speeds try to download at odd times of the day or night, avoid peek usage times in your area, I find optimal downloading between 2am and 6am in the morning because most people are still in bed and not using their computers, and businesses are less likely to be doing heavy internet activity.

You can use download agents that can improve your connection speeds, but even they are not going to block everyone elses activity just to improve your connection speed, they can only do so much. If you use dial up to connect, you are competing with anyone else using their telephone line in any way whether talking or using it for faxes, computer links. If you use a cable internet supplier, you share your bandwidth with everyone else in your immediate area along your line to the ISP, so during low usage times your speeds are higher, but as more people start doing things online your download speeds slow down. If you use DSL as your connection, you pay for a set download speed, and can usually contact your ISP and purchase faster services for more money per month.
