How often do you think you should change what exercises you do in a weight training program?

Cause I have heard that if you change to often you won't be giving those exercises proper time to build up. Also I always get at least one more rep in one set on each exercise so that is results

In recent years a myth has been created about needing to change routines on a very regular basis.

To an extent it's true. If you continue with the same exercises at the same level then you will fairly quickly lose benefit. So for example if you went for a two mile jog, at first you'd get a large benefit but it isn't long before your body has adapted to the exercise and then you won't benefit.

But, and it's a bit but, that doesn't have to apply to all exercises and it's where a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

With weights, if you continue to progress with adding weights and reps, shifting the weight up each time you max out on the reps, then there is no need to change out the routine until you eventually plateau, and even then deloading for a short while is often enough to break past it.

every week.
I also incorporate different movements every week. For beginning trainers (less than a year under their belt) once per month is fine.
It depends, for example squats work for me better than any leg exercise so I stick with them. But for my arms I vary my routine everytime I work them. So you have to know your body. Generally I would change things around every week.
Every week is best, otherwise you plain off and don't get the same effects.

Infact studies have concluded that if you do the same work out like clock work it eventually becomes virtually ineffective.

Change it as often as you can every workout for best results.
I create a routine for everyday!

never let your body adapt to the same routine, you may not get to the muscles you are missing!

And it is nonsense what you have heard about not giving time to build up, either way, dumbells are always going too increase your bicep size no matter what you do with them!

Same goes for everything else!

And if you vary your routines, you will get to the muscles you didnt even know were there!

And i dont mean just go and do any random exercises!

Just do them on different days maybe!
