Don't worry about it. Its just a sample file any ways. Nothing uses it. Don't go poking around files and directories if you don't know what it is.

You haven't changed it to a text file. You have simply changed the association. Any file ending with the .sam extension will now open with notepad or whatever you used to view it. Don't worry about it. It wont affect anything. The file isn't' usually used for anything anyway
