HOw do you cahnge the default place were a program installs?

When i install a program it always goes to C drive and i don't want it to do that How can i change that so that every time i install software the default will be like D drive

2. Find ProgramFilesDir whose default should be C:\Program Files

3. (Change this to whatever directory you wish.) I changed it to D:\Program Files for example.



Even I had to look that up. Never tried doing that before. That's just to change the default. Also, when your installing programs, if they give you a %26quot;Custom%26quot; option, choose that and it'll let you select exactly where you want to install on your entire computer. Hope this helps.

What is a free program that can delete all my duplicate itunes songs? Windows 7?

I'm running itunes 64 on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. I have around 4 of every single song, which changes my normal 10GB of music, to an overall 40GB. I can't ever listen to my music, because it's always duplicated. Is there a free program out there that can take care of all the duplicates and delete em? The option in itunes takes wayy too long. One program is TidySongs. It's not technically free, but I know you can torrent it because my friend has it. Also if you do file%26gt;show duplicates, it's not that difficult to do yourself as long as you sort the songs by name.
Advanced System Optimizer has a feature that can delete duplicates on your computer. But it deletes all duplicates, not just Itunes songs. Hope this helps

Which Internet security program do you recommend?

Hi. We have always used CA security on our home pc (XP) %26amp; now also on my laptop (Vista). I have noticed MANY problems with the CA 2009 program and Vista. We are now due to re-new our subscription, however numerous people seem to be having major issues with the new 2010 CA download, so I am unsure about whether to re-new CA or completely change to a new program? Has anyone had a similar experience %26amp; found something better?

I use Avast , I have also got superantispyware and Malwarebytes. I recently changed to Comodo firewall which seems fine and I seem to boot up quicker. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans Hackers etc. I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Three sites you can use safely.

Click properties

Click the task bar tab

Click customize

Scroll to the icon, highlight it, and on the right change to always hide

Right click the file you want to open (with the mouse). When the context menu appears, find and select %26quot;open with%26quot;. On the submenu, select %26quot;choose default program%26quot; (click it once). A window appears showing a selection of programs recommended by windows that could open your file or you can browse for a program in your computer that you think would open the file. I recommend to choose from the selection shown. Click to highlight the program you want. You will notice a box ticked on the lower left side of the window which means whatever you choose will become the default program to open the file. Click OK.



All the files in your computer of the same type as the one you right clicked will automatically have the program you've chosen as the default program to open them.

Im really bad with Vista although I have it as 2nd boot system (never use it) but in XP you can right click the file u want to open than choose %26quot;Open with...%26quot; it will give the a list of programs, click on Firefox (or browse button to find it on you HDD if its not in the list) and click the box that says %26quot;Always use this programm to open this file type%26quot; (smthing like that) and click %26quot;OK%26quot;. Next time u can just double click the file and it will be opened by Firefox. You can try the same in Vista Im guessing.

Whats the 3d modeling program they use on the HGTV's Hidden Potential Show?

The guy has a pretty cool program he always uses on his laptop to show what the rooms will look like when it's finished. I've heard of programs like 3d studio max and stuff like that, but does somebody really craft a model of the whole house with all those details? Or is there something where you can take pictures of the room and convert it into 3d and make changes beyond that? Well, i'd like to know what he uses either way. Thanks

3d max would be complex, and allow more features then as shown on tv, and auto-cad would also be complicated and require too much accuracy for simple layouts,

This program is blocked by group policy?

I always get %26quot;This program is blocked by group policy.%26quot; When I try to run programs as administrator in vista (Right clicking on the file and selecting %26quot;Run as administrator%26quot;) I am using a standard account to do this but I have control over an admin. I am trying to use that command because I don't want to keep changing between my admin and standard account every time I want to install a program or something like that....



what should I do to fix this?

That's a catch 22....



Give your user account admin privileges which kinda makes it an admin account. If your the only user then lose the user account and stick with the admin account. If not then setup account for others and you be the admin.
